As per reports, approximately 250000 demonstrators gathered from around 1200 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) on Saturday (14 February) at Theresienwiese, Munich, Bavaria, Germany, demanding ‘game over’ for Iran’s leadership.
• The large-scale rally, attended by pro-monarchist Iranian opposition groups from across Europe, coincided with the ongoing Munich Security Conference (MSC) taking place within approximately three kilometres of the protest site.
• Reza Pahlavi, son of Iran’s former monarch, addressed the rally and expressed willingness to lead a transitional phase toward a secular democratic system in Iran. Demonstrators displayed pre-1979 Iranian flags and chanted slogans supporting political transition.
• Concurrently, German authorities implemented an extensive security operation involving approximately 5000 police officers across Munich in connection with the Munich Security Conference, which began on Friday (13 February).
• Temporary airspace restrictions were imposed over central Munich, including a no-fly zone around key conference venues.
• The Munich Security Conference is primarily held at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof, located at Promenadeplatz 2–6 in central Munich’s Altstadt-Lehel district.
• In addition to the Bayerischer Hof, affiliated side events and panel discussions are frequently hosted at Amerikahaus Munich, located at Karolinenplatz 3, also within central Munich.
• During the conference period, an extended security perimeter is typically established around Promenadeplatz and adjoining streets, including Kardinal-Faulhaber-Straße, Salvatorstraße, Theatinerstraße, and areas surrounding Odeonsplatz. These locations are subject to controlled access, road closures, pedestrian screening points, and heightened police deployment.
• As of 1700 hours local time (1600 hours UTC) on Saturday (14 February), no major violent incidents were reported; however, heavy police presence, controlled access perimeters, and localized transport disruptions remained in effect across central Munich.
