As per reports, a large and peaceful march took place on Tuesday (25 November) in Santiago to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
• Thousands of participants, including women of different ages and family groups, mobilized along the Alameda between Cerro Santa Lucía and Metro República.
• The event reportedly included expressions of remembrance, such as stopping near La Moneda Palace to honor women detained and disappeared during the military dictatorship.
• The demonstration occurred in the context of Chile’s upcoming second-round presidential election on 14 December, with participants expressing concerns about proposals and positions related to women’s rights, gender policies, and democratic values.
