As per reports, on Monday (26 January), approximately 500 protesters participated in a peaceful march along Main Street in Park City during the Sundance Film Festival.
The demonstration was organized on short notice and aimed to protest US immigration enforcement practices and express solidarity with Minnesota following the fatal shooting of an ICU nurse, Alex Pretti, by a US Border Patrol officer in Minneapolis on Saturday (24 January).
• Protesters assembled at Miners Park before marching down Main Street, chanting slogans and displaying signs critical of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
• The march concluded at a small park further down Main Street after briefly stopping near Heber Avenue, where traffic barriers were already in place due to festival-related road closures.
• Law enforcement maintained a low-visibility, perimeter-based presence, including Park City Police, Utah Highway Patrol, and Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office mounted units. No clashes, arrests, or injuries were reported.
