As per reports, there is a heat emergency at Charles Place, a 10-story, 200-unit senior and disabled housing facility located at 460 Charles Street in Providence, Rhode Island as of Saturday (31 January).
• The crisis emerged after one of the two boilers serving the building failed, resulting in insufficient heating and hot water for many residents during a period of severe cold weather with temperatures near or below freezing.
• According to management and housing authority updates forwarded to state officials, a new boiler is expected to be installed beginning the following week, and full operation is anticipated by Saturday (07 February).
