As per reports, flooding and flood-related risks continue across parts of Indonesia as of Monday (18 May), with urban inundation, upstream runoff, stagnant floodwater and overlapping weather-related hazards reported in several areas.

• In DKI Jakarta, the Regional Disaster Management Agency has maintained Waspada status following continued localised rainfall over the weekend. Increased water levels have been reported along the Ciliwung, Krukut and Pesanggrahan river corridors, with possible re-inundation in low-lying areas of South Jakarta, including Pejaten Timur and Cilandak, and East Jakarta, including Kampung Melayu and Cawang.
• In West Java, upstream catchment areas in Bogor Regency and Cianjur Regency remain vulnerable following multi-day rainfall. Localised slope failures and landslides have been reported in some areas, while increased runoff continues to place pressure on downstream river channels flowing towards the Greater Jakarta basin.
• In South Sumatra, stagnant flooding continues in parts of Musi Rawas Utara Regency, particularly in downstream areas such as Rawas Ilir, where drainage capacity remains limited. Upstream areas, including Karang Jaya, have started reporting receding water levels. However, the local emergency response status remains in effect until Wednesday (20 May).
• In South Sulawesi, local disaster management groups continue to monitor waterlogging across several affected areas. In North Halmahera, Maluku Province, emergency response teams are monitoring the combined impact of rainfall and ongoing volcanic activity from Mount Dukono, with response resources focused on ashfall-related mitigation and flash flood monitoring.
