Situational update on fire reported near Dubai International Airport on Monday (16 March)

As per reports, a fire occurred near Dubai International Airport (DXB), following a drone incident that struck a fuel tank, at approximately 0430 hours local time (0030 hours UTC) on Monday (16 March).

Dubai Civil Defence teams responded to the scene and worked to contain and extinguish the blaze. Officials confirmed that the fire was successfully brought under control and that no injuries were reported.

• As a precautionary measure, flight operations at Dubai International Airport were temporarily suspended following the incident. Several incoming flights were diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).
• Additionally, at approximately 0700 hours local time (0300 hours UTC) on Monday (16 March) Dubai Police announced a traffic closure at the intersection of Cargo Village and Marrakech Street towards the airport.
