As per reports, a significant residential fire occurred in a housing tower within the Cooperative Housing Towers, on Al-Amin Street in Port Said Governorate, northeastern Egypt, on Thursday (12 February).

• Emergency services, including civil defence units and ambulance teams, responded to reports at approximately 0544 hours local time (0344 hours UTC) of visible flames and heavy smoke emanating from one of the residential units within the multi-storey building.
• Reports indicate that due to dense smoke accumulation within the building’s stairwell and internal access points, several residents were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Some occupants were assisted using cranes and elevated lifting equipment to ensure safe extraction from upper levels.
