As per reports, authorities are investigating a police shooting involving a domestic violence suspect at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California, on Thursday (02 July).

• According to the Simi Valley Police Department, the incident originated from a reported domestic violence case at a residence in the 2100 block of Clover Street in Simi Valley during the early hours of the day.
• Investigators stated that the suspect allegedly stabbed his wife before attempting to stab himself. Both individuals were transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center for treatment.
• At approximately 1330 hours local time (2030 hours UTC), the suspect reportedly became involved in an altercation with a police officer assigned to guard him at the hospital. During the confrontation, the officer discharged their firearm, striking the suspect.
• The suspect survived the shooting and was receiving medical treatment. The officer was not injured. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has assumed responsibility for investigating the officer-involved shooting.
