As per reports, the National Meteorological Office of Algeria, has issued a weather warning forecasting heavy thunderstorms across 39 provinces, and the continuation of a second-level heatwave in parts of the country, on Friday (25 July).
• On Friday (25 July), from 0700 hours (local time) to 1900 hours (local time), severe thunderstorms are expected in several provinces of Algiers, Boumerdes, Tipaza, Blida, Bouira, Ain Defla, Chlef, Djelfa, Setif, M’Sila, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Mascara, Saida, Ain Temouchent, Sidi Bel Abbes, Tlemcen, Laghouat, El Bayadh, Souk Ahras, Tebessa, Oum El Bouaghi, Khenchela, Biskra, Mila, Batna, El Tarf, Annaba, Jijel, Constantine, Mila, Skikda, Bejaia, Naama, Sidi Bel Abbes, In Salah, Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Adrar and In Guezzam.
• Reports indicate that Level 2 heatwave is expected to continue throughout Friday (25 July) in the provinces of Biskra, El Meghair, and El Oued, where temperatures are expected to reach up to 49 degree Celsius.
