As per reports, the Nigerian Army has relocated the tactical headquarters of Operation Enduring Peace from Jos to Mangu Local Government Area in Plateau State and launched Operation Hard Nut on Wednesday (19 August), following an escalation in insecurity in the area.

• Reportedly, the General Officer Commanding 03 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Maxwell Dangana, has temporarily moved his operational base to Mangu for two weeks to supervise security operations directly.
• Operation Hard Nut is intended to dismantle armed criminal networks, clear identified hostile areas and restore security in Mangu and other vulnerable communities.
• The security deployment has been reinforced with additional troops, equipment and operational resources, while troops are expected to sustain offensive operations in the area.
