As per reports, for the annual Datta Jayanti celebrations at the Inam Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy Dargah in the Bababudangiri Hills, the Chikkamagaluru district adminsitrations has issued the following restrictions that are applicable till Friday(05 December):
• Due to the large scale processions scheduled on Wednesday (03 December), the weekly market in Chikkamagaluru was shut down.
• On Thursday (04 December), major towns across the district including Chikkamagaluru, will partially shut down in view Datta Paduke Darshan. The adminstration has instructed the traders to keep shops and commercial establishments closed as a safety measure. The shrine will remain open from 0600 to 1400 hours (local time).
• Until 1000 hours (local time) on Friday (05 December), tourists have been barred from visiting the hill range comprising Mullayyanagiri, Seethalayyanagiri, and the Inam Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy Dargah.
• Additionally, police across the district have been placed on high alert, with senior officials directing enhanced surveillance in all major localities.
• Alongside police deployment, more than 15 drone cameras are being used to monitor movement across the hill shrine and surrounding routes.
• A total of 28 checkposts have been set up, with round-the-clock vigil maintained by security personnel.
