As per reports, Mexico City International Airport has implemented enhanced security measures and access restrictions on Thursday (11 June) amid concerns over potential demonstrations by members of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE).

Airport authorities announced that access to airport terminals is restricted to passengers holding valid boarding passes and accompanying persons deemed strictly necessary.

• AICM deployed an extensive security operation involving the National Guard (Guardia Nacional), Secretariat of the Navy (Secretaría de Marina – SEMAR), Mexico City police, private security personnel, and canine units. Security screening procedures were reinforced at both Terminal 01 and Terminal 02.
• At Terminal 02, authorities established multiple security checkpoints at terminal access points and passenger entrances. At Terminal 01, concrete barriers were installed at entrances and additional security personnel were deployed to secure access routes.
• Authorities also deployed hundreds of police officers along Circuito Interior and surrounding roads to prevent demonstrators from reaching airport facilities.
• Public transportation services in the airport area have also been affected. Authorities announced contingency mobility measures, including the potential temporary closure of Oceanía and Pantitlán Metro stations on Metro Line 5.
• Metrobús Line 4 services to the airport are operating under modified routes, while RTP services departing from Chapultepec are also operating under alternative service arrangements.
• Authorities also confirmed that access to the upper level of Terminal 2 has reopened following the completion of maintenance works.
