Scheduled public transport disruptions and road closures due to Victory Day commemorations in Paris on Friday (08 May)

As per reports, multiple metro station closures, rail disruptions, road closures, and parking restrictions are scheduled across Paris on Friday (08 May), during commemorative ceremonies marking the 81st anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.

Official ceremonies are scheduled to take place around the Arc de Triomphe and additional memorial locations dedicated to General Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque, General Jean de Lattre de Tassigny, and General Charles de Gaulle.

• According to the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP), multiple metro stations are scheduled to remain inaccessible from the start of service on Friday (08 May).
• On Metro Line 01, Argentine, Charles de Gaulle–Étoile, George V, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Champs-Élysées–Clemenceau stations are scheduled to be closed, with trains not stopping.
• Additional disruptions are scheduled across other rail services. Charles de Gaulle–Étoile station on Metro Line 02 is scheduled to remain inaccessible, while Metro Line 6 service is scheduled to remain suspended between Kléber and Charles de Gaulle–Étoile for the duration of the commemorations.
• Franklin D. Roosevelt station on Metro Line 09 and Champs-Élysées–Clemenceau station on Metro Line 13 are also scheduled to remain closed. Charles de Gaulle–Étoile station on the Réseau Express Régional (RER) A network is scheduled to remain inaccessible.
• Authorities stated that the reopening of stations and restoration of normal service operations are subject to authorization from the Paris Police Prefecture.
• Road closures are scheduled to remain in effect between 0700 hours local time (0500 hours UTC) and 1600 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) on Friday (08 May) around Place Charles de Gaulle and adjacent ceremonial zones.
• Additional closures are scheduled between 0700 hours local time (0500 hours UTC) and 1600 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) on Friday (08 May) along Cours Albert Ier (even-numbered side), Place du Canada, Cours la Reine (even-numbered side), Place de la Concorde, Rue Boissy d’Anglas, Boulevard Malesherbes between Rue Boissy d’Anglas and Rue La Roquépine, Rue Roquépine, Rue de Penthièvre between Rue Roquépine and Avenue Matignon, Avenue Matignon between Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and Rue de Penthièvre, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré between Avenue Matignon and Boulevard Haussmann, Boulevard Haussmann between Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and Avenue de Friedland, Avenue de Friedland between Boulevard Haussmann and Rue Berryer, and Rue Berryer.
• Authorities additionally confirmed that extensive parking restrictions are scheduled to remain in effect around the Place de l’Étoile area from 1400 hours local time (1200 hours UTC) on Thursday (07 May) until 1600 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) on Friday (08 May).
