The Regional Specialized Meteorological Centre (RSMC) Nadi has issued Special Weather Bulletin Number One for damaging heavy swells at 0430 hours (local time) on Wednesday (10 June).
• A damaging heavy swell alert remains in force for Southwest Viti Levu waters, Lau waters, Koro Sea and Kadavu Passage.
• A high-pressure system to the southeast of Fiji is expected to generate and direct damaging heavy swells over open waters of Fiji.
• Damaging heavy swells with heights of up to 4.5 metres and wave periods of up to 18 seconds are expected to develop from Thursday (11 June) across open waters of Southwest Viti Levu, Lau waters, Koro Sea and Kadavu Passage.
• Forecast confidence has been assessed as moderate to high.
