As per reports, significant traffic disruptions are expected on the routes connecting Dresden in Germany to Prague in the Czech Republic due to ongoing road closures scheduled between Tuesday (07 October) and Friday (10 October).
• The Autobahn GmbH has announced resurfacing and signage work on major highways, particularly the A17 and A38, which are key routes for both commuters and freight transport.
• On the A17, several tunnels, Coschütz, Dölzschen, and Altfranken are scheduled to be completely closed for surface repair between 2000 hours and 0500 hours local time (1800 hours–0300 hours UTC) on Tuesday (07 October) and Wednesday (08 October) and again on Thursday (09 October) and Friday (10 October). A diversion route (U15) may redirect vehicles from the Dresden-Gorbitz junction to Dresden-Südvorstadt before rejoining the motorway.
• Additionally, the Dresden-Prohlis junction on the A17 may remain closed from Tuesday (07 October) and Thursday (09 October), between 0800 hours and 1800 hours local time (0600 hours–1600 hours UTC), due to signage replacement works.
• Traffic heading toward Prague is expected to be diverted via Dresden-Südvorstadt. Meanwhile, construction is also underway on the A38 between the Leipzig-Süd interchange and the Fuchsaue rest area.
• The overtaking lane is scheduled to be closed until Friday (10 October) during the day for sewer maintenance, reducing traffic to a single lane and likely causing slowdowns.
