As per reports, the City of Cape Town has announced road closures for the 48th edition of the Cape Town Cycle Tour, which is expected to take place at 0600 hours local time (0400 hours UTC) to 1700 hours local time (1500 hours UTC) on Sunday (08 March).
• Roads along the start and finish lines, rider chutes, and key routes through the southern suburbs, False Bay coastline, Simon’s Town, Cape Point Nature Reserve, Scarborough, Misty Cliffs, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Camps Bay, Clifton, Green Point, Constantia, and Newlands are expected to be closed to motor traffic.
• The event is likely to attract tens of thousands of cyclists and may involve full road closures across large parts of Cape Town.
• In some areas, road closures may begin as early as Thursday (05 March), with major closures around the start and finish points starting Saturday (08 March).
• Reports indicate that nearly 30,000 cyclists are expected to take to the streets of Cape Town on Sunday (08 March).
