As per reports, North Indian Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, CA, is scheduled for closure this week for bridge widening and improvement work. The closure, between Palm Springs Station Road and Garnet Avenue, began early Monday (17 November) at 0200 hours (local time) and is expected to continue through Thursday (20 November).

• The project aims to improve the corridor’s reliability, as it frequently shuts down due to flooding or blowing sand.
• The closure has prompted drivers to use alternate, longer, and more complicated routes, leading to delays.
• 70 per cent of the workforce in Desert Hot Springs depends on this route daily to travel into Palm Springs or south of the freeway.
