As per reports, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced the closure of Quarry Road in the Mlolongo/Syokimau area for two months, from Monday (24 February) at 0600 hours (local time) until 1800 hours (local time) on 25 April.

• The closure is part of ongoing rehabilitation and improvement works. The authority has advised motorists to use alternative routes and follow the guidance of traffic police and marshals to minimize congestion.
• Motorists, including light and heavy truckers, will be rerouted to alternative roads. Light truckers from Katani Center will be diverted through Syokimau Airport Road, with a left turn leading to the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
• Heavy truckers will be rerouted towards Ebenezer Mall and Tuffoam Industries before connecting to the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
