As per reports, a Molotov cocktail was thrown from the Belarusian side of the border at Polish officers on Wednesday (16 July). These officers were attempting to prevent an illegal migrant crossing near Czeremcha. The attack follows a recent rise in aggression along the Poland-Belarus border.

Polish authorities have attributed responsibility to Belarus, claiming the act could not have occurred without the knowledge or consent of Belarusian officials. Ten migrants, including five Afghans and five Eritreans were detained during the operation. However, Belarus has called for dialogue with Poland to reduce risk of armed clashes amid military build-up on Wednesday (16 July).
