The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued several weather warnings in parts of Rajasthan as heavy rainfall along with strong surface winds, thunderstorm and lightning are forecast on Monday (05 August). Red alert has been issued in Nagaur, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer and Jalore districts. Orange alert is active in Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Sirohi, Pratapgarh and Banswara, while yellow alert is active in all the remaining districts of the state.

Due to the possibility of heavy rainfall, Tonk District Collector Dr. Saumya Jha has ordered a holiday for all government and private schools in the district on Tuesday (06 August).
