Red flag warning issued for south and central Florida in anticipation of wildfires on Sunday (22 February)

As per reports, a Red Flag warning is currently in effect for a broad swath of South Florida and portions of East Central Florida, where critical wildfire weather conditions are expected imminently due to the combination of strong winds, very low relative humidity, and warm temperatures as of Sunday (22 February).

• The National Weather Service (NWS) has stated multiple counties and fire weather zones are subject to the warning, including Palm Beach County, Inland and Broward County, Inland and Metropolitan Miami-Dade County, Glades County Lake Region, Hendry County Lakes Region, Palm Beach County Lake Region, Coastal Palm Beach and Broward Counties, Coastal and Far South Miami-Dade County, and Inland Palm Beach County.
• The warning period is expected to remain active until the stipulated expiration time specified by the NWS.
