The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has issued red and orange flash flood alerts for parts of China on Tuesday (25 August).

• Red alert: A very high probability of flash floods is forecast in parts of eastern Fujian.
• Orange alert: A high probability of flash floods is forecast across parts of western Inner Mongolia, northern Heilongjiang and eastern Fujian.
• The CMA has advised that other areas may also experience flash floods due to localized short-duration heavy rainfall. Authorities have been urged to strengthen real-time monitoring, flood warnings, evacuation and shelter measures.
