The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) issued a blue alert for heavy rainfall in parts of China at 0600 hours (local time) on Saturday (24 October), valid from 0800 hours (local time) on Saturday (24 October) to 0800 hours (local time) on Sunday (25 October).
• Heavy rainfall is forecast across southeastern Jiangsu Province, eastern Shanghai and northeastern Zhejiang Province.
• Torrential rainfall, with accumulations of 50 to 80 millimeters is forecast in parts of northeastern Zhejiang Province.
• Short-duration heavy rainfall is also expected across the affected areas, with maximum hourly rainfall of 20 to 30 millimeters and locally exceeding 40 millimeters.
