According to reports, on Saturday (29 June), China issued a red alert for rainstorms and warned about possible geological disasters in rain-affected regions.
• According to the National Meteorological Center forecast, heavy downpours are expected in areas of Anhui, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, and Guizhou provinces, with some regions anticipating up to 280 mm of rain within 24 hours by 1400 hours on Sunday (30 June).
• In addition, a blue alert, has been issued for convective weather such as thunderstorms, strong winds, and hailstorms. These conditions are anticipated to affect several regions including Beijing, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Hubei, Anhui, and Jiangsu during this period.
• Furthermore, on Saturday (29 June), China’s meteorological authority and the Ministry of Natural Resources jointly issued alerts for geological disasters. They warned of a high risk of such disasters in some regions of Anhui and Hubei on both Saturday (29 June) and Sunday (30 June). Parts of Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Henan, Hunan, and Guizhou are also advised to prepare for potential rain-induced geological disasters.
