As per reports, over 100 mm rainfall is forecast for New South Wales (NSW) coast through the week. Heavy rainfall is expected on Thursday (15 May) and Friday (16 May) with a low-pressure system developing offshore and raising the possibility of thunderstorms.
A strong cold front is expected to pass over NSW’s coastline over the weekend (17-18 May) bringing heavy winds. There is also an increased risk of flash flooding due to heavy rainfall and the cold front has the potential to turn into a coastal trough or a coastal low.
