As per reports, the Sri Lanka Railway Station Masters’ Union have announced a one-day strike on Saturday (17 May) in response to several unresolved demands.

All night mail trains were cancelled, along with all long-distance train services. Train service is limited to short-distance routes such as Galle, Negombo and Veyangoda. The union further stated that in case their demands are not addressed within the next week, they will begin an indefinite strike.
