As per reports, Hellenic Train has announced temporary route modifications, service suspensions, and bus replacement operations due to technical railway infrastructure works being conducted by OSE – Hellenic Railways from Saturday (25 April) to Monday (27 April).
• On Saturday (25 April), selected afternoon and evening services between 1500 hours local time (1200 hours UTC) and 2200 hours local time (1900 hours UTC) are scheduled for suspension.
• The affected sectors include the Thessaloniki – Larissa – Thessaloniki corridor, the Thessaloniki – Edessa – Thessaloniki corridor, and the Thessaloniki – Serres – Thessaloniki corridor.
• On Sunday (26 April), broader service suspensions are scheduled across the local and suburban network.
• No railway services are expected to operate on the Thessaloniki – Larissa suburban sector, the Thessaloniki – Edessa route, and the Thessaloniki – Serres route. However, only Intercity services numbered 50, 51, 56, and 57 are scheduled to remain operational.
• On Monday (27 April), targeted early morning suspensions are scheduled on specific departures. The affected services include Thessaloniki – Larissa at 0500 hours local time (0200 hours UTC), Larissa – Thessaloniki at 0515 hours local time (0215 hours UTC), Thessaloniki – Edessa at 0510 hours local time (0210 hours UTC), and Edessa – Thessaloniki at 0725 hours local time (0425 hours UTC).
• Subsequently, passengers on cancelled services are expected to be accommodated through replacement bus transportation, which may result in extended journey times and operational delays.
