As per reports, on Wednesday (23 July), the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) announced the completion of 10 aerial inspection sorties conducted during the second quarter (Q2) of 2025.
• These operations, which lasted a total of 12.6 flight hours, were carried out using an autogyro aircraft and primarily focused on the northern regions of Qatar, including areas such as Al Ruwais, Madinat Ash Shamal, and Umm Tais.
• The inspections were supported by both the Department of Terrestrial Protection and the Department of Wildlife Development.
• A total of 41 environmental violations were recorded, with 33 identified by the Terrestrial Protection Department and 8 by the Wildlife Development Department.
• Violations included unauthorised land use, vegetation degradation, improper waste disposal, encroachment on natural meadows, and establishment of unlicensed structures.
