According to reports, to streamline the Ganesh immersion procession, Pune city police have requested the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesh Mandal to start the procession at 1600 hours on Tuesday (17 September).

• Traditionally, the Manache Ganpati procession begins at 0900 hours; however, due to delays observed between processions in previous years, the police have proposed an earlier start to expedite the event.
• In 2023, the processions extended over 30.25 hours, and in 2022, they lasted 31 hours. To address these delays, the police are implementing measures to shorten the overall duration of the procession.
• Additionally, the police have engaged with mandal representatives to encourage voluntary compliance with regulations, particularly concerning the dhol tasha pathak, to ensure a lawful and orderly immersion procession.
