According to reports, a 24-hour nationwide strike has been scheduled by the Civil Servants’ Confederation, representing public sector employees across Greece, on Wednesday (13 May).
• A central rally is scheduled at 1100 hours local time (0800 hours UTC) in central Athens, where workers are expected to gather and voice their demands.
• The strike has been called over demands for salary increases and restoration of the 13th and 14th monthly salaries, which were removed during the financial crisis.
• Workers have also called for reduced working hours, proposing a 35-hour workweek, along with stronger employment protections and measures to address rising inflation.
