As per reports, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has implemented Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) across portions of Northern California due to elevated wildfire risk on Thursday (11 June).
PG&E confirmed that power shutoffs are required across parts of Colusa, Glenn, Lake, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, Sutter, Tehama, and Yolo counties on Thursday (11 June).
• According to PG&E, the power outages are intended to reduce the risk of electrical infrastructure igniting wildfires during a period of heightened fire danger.
• The outages coincide with elevated fire weather conditions across Northern California. Red Flag Warnings remain in effect across portions of the Sacramento Valley and elevated terrain in the North Bay and East Bay. Forecast conditions include dry air, gusty winds, and above-average temperatures, including triple-digit Fahrenheit temperatures in parts of Solano County, the East Bay, and northern Wine Country.
