As per reports, civil society, human rights activists and opposition parties have called for the complete withdrawal of the bill against public gatherings and processions. Activists claim that it goes against Namibians’ freedom of expression.

• Albert Kawana, Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security of Namibia, announced on Wednesday (18 September) asked for debates on the bill to be set aside until after the upcoming elections.
