As per reports, on Friday (24 October), federal immigration enforcement agents, CBP (Customs and Border Protection), and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) faced protestors at the ICE processing facility in Broadview.

Demonstrations occurred in response to “Operation Midway Blitz,” an immigration enforcement campaign. Protesters were contained within designated safety zones, with law enforcement deploying chemical agents, including tear gas and pepper spray, in some instances.

• Earlier in the week, federal agents conducted operations in Little Village, South Shore, and Brighton Park, resulting in multiple arrests. In a South Shore apartment raid, approximately 300 federal officers, including Border Patrol units, detained 37 individuals.
• Separately, on the same day, A.N. Pritzker Elementary School in Chicago was placed under a lockdown due to reported ICE activity in the neighborhood. Two students in Little Village participating in protests were detained.
