Protest reported in West Bengal over anti-minority attacks in Bangladesh on Thursday (12 December)

As per reports, protests erupted across West Bengal on Thursday (12 December) as demonstrators rallied against the alleged persecution of minority Hindus in Bangladesh. The rallies, primarily held in Kolkata’s Burrabazar area and Ranaghat in Nadia district, saw considerable participation from local communities.

BJP leaders led the Burrabazar rally, condemning the attacks on minorities. Simultaneously, various Hindu organizations held a similar demonstration in Ranaghat. In a separate protest at the Alipore court in Kolkata, lawyers demanded justice for Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das, whose request for bail advancement in a sedition case was rejected by a Bangladesh court.
