As per reports, the Left Alliance announced its support for a national protest march organized by the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT) in Casablanca on Sunday (28 June).
• The protest demonstration is scheduled to commence at 1000 hours local time (0900 hours UTC) from August 20 Square located in the Derb Omar commercial district.
• The political coalition issued a public invitation to its activists, institutional components, and regular citizens to participate in the field assembly to voice opposition against current government economic policies, escalating consumer prices, and corporate monopolies.
• Reports indicate that the organizers are demanding urgent structural interventions from the government, including the implementation of caps on fuel prices, the enhancement of national energy sovereignty, and the immediate operational restart of the Samir oil refinery.
• Additionally, the Left Alliance expressed formal opposition to any proposed structural reforms targeting national retirement systems or social funds that may financially burden the working class.
• The coalition stated that the demonstration serves as a unified effort to protect union organization rights and advocate for adjustments to public wages and pensions to align with inflation and the rising cost of living.
