As per reports, in response to rising violence during the farmers’ protests, the Bagalkote Deputy Commissioner enforced Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, placing temporary prohibitory orders in the Jamkhandi, Mudhol, and Rabkavi-Banhatti taluks.

The restrictions, in place from 2000 hours (local time) on Thursday (13 November) to 0800 hours on Sunday (16 November), ban public gatherings, protests, and strikes to maintain public safety and safeguard property.
