As per reports, Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative reported service outages in various areas around Eastern Maine on Thursday evening (14 August). The exact extent of the affected area and the expected time of the restoration are at the time of the reporting, unknown.
The outage is suspected to be a result of a lightning strike on a transmission line around 1700 hours (local time). According to EMEC, the electricity has been partially restored in the Calais area at the time of the reporting.
