As per reports, Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced planned electricity interruptions scheduled for Thursday (22 January) as part of routine system maintenance works.
The outages are expected to affect selected areas across six counties, with disruptions lasting for up to eight hours, depending on location and operational conditions.
• In Nairobi County, power interruptions are scheduled from 0900 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) to 1700 hours local time (1400 hours UTC), affecting South B, parts of Kapiti Road, Mpweke Lane, and surrounding areas.
• In Nyandarua County, electricity supply will be interrupted from 0900 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) to 1630 hours local time (1330 hours UTC) in Engineer, Ndunyu Njeru, Njambini, and surrounding localities.
• In Uasin Gishu County, outages are planned from 0900 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) to 1600 hours local time (1300 hours UTC), impacting Kipkenyo Simat, including Kipkenyo Primary, Eldowas Sewage, and adjacent areas.
• In Nandi County, power interruptions are scheduled between 0900 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) and 1700 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) in Kapkagaron, Kilibwoni, Tulon Quarry, and nearby areas.
• In Nyeri County, supply will be disrupted from 0900 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) to 1700 hours local time (1400 hours UTC), affecting Solio Ranch, Solio Water Pump, Solio Village, and surrounding facilities.
• In Kirinyaga County, planned outages from 0900 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) to 1700 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) will affect Makutano, Mutithi, Mwea, and several associated commercial and residential zones.
