As per reports, BC Hydro (British Colombia Hyrdro) has recorded significant power outages in parts of Vancouver Island in British Colombia through Wednesday (17 January) due to the snowstorm and downed trees on the wires in the area.

The locations include Vancouver near Inverness, Ridgewood Drive and Hadden Drive, Victoria, Sooke, Chemainus, Saturna Island near Ferry Road and Payne Road, Pender Island near Otter Bay Road, Shingle Road, Pirates Road and Mackinnon Road, North Saanich, Mayne Island, Ganges, Galiano Island near Porlier Road, Esquimalt, Courtenay, and Nanaimo.

• Power outages have been reported in other parts of British Colombia as well including Burns Lake, Stewart, Burnaby near Lougheed Highway, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Delta, Hope, Langley, Richmond, Sechelt and Surrey.
• Reports indicate that crews have been assigned to the outages. It has been estimated that the power supply will be restored in most of the locations by Thursday (18 January) early morning.
