As per reports, a power outage occurred after a utility pole fell on a street in Guro-gu, Seoul, following a recycling collection vehicle touching the wire at around 1610 hours (local time) on Sunday (22 June).
• Although no injuries were reported, around 373 households reportedly experienced inconvenience due to the power outage as the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) cut off the power supply to nearby apartments as a precautionary measure.
• Additionally, the Guro-gu Office sent a disaster text message stating that power is expected to be restored at 2300 hours (local time), and urged residents to take precautions such as turning off electronic devices during the outage.
• Currently, the KEPCO is carrying out further restoration work, while the police and fire department are expected to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
