As per reports, a massive power outage affected downtown Buenos Aires on Thursday (22 May) night , leaving thousands of users without electricity.
• The outage began around 2000 hours (local time) and, according to Edesur, was due to a failure in a medium-voltage switch that supplies power to the Monserrat and San Nicolás neighborhoods.
• The service interruption affected a key downtown area, stretching from 9 de Julio Avenue to Uruguay Street , reaching parts of the San Nicolás and Monserrat neighborhoods.
• Among the most affected areas were Tribunales, Corrientes Avenue, from Montevideo to Libertad, and commercial and office areas between Hipólito Yrigoyen Street and Belgrano Avenue.
• According to the National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE) , as of 2200 hours (local time), more than 5,500 users were without power, in addition to a minor outage in Almagro that left another 372 customers without electricity.
• All customers affected by the outage in the Monserrat and San Nicolás areas had their power restored by Thursday (22 May) night.
