As per reports, professional urban taxi drivers in Cyprus have issued an ultimatum to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works and the Ministry of Justice regarding unresolved industry grievances. The drivers have warned of strike mobilizations beginning Tuesday (10 March) if the government fails to provide written answers and legislative proposals within a three-day window.
The core issues cited by the drivers include the illegal operation of private vehicles as taxis, concerns regarding travel applications violating current regulations, and the presence of misleading websites advertising unlicensed services.
