As per reports, the Portuguese National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection announced that the country will be on alert status from Friday (08 August) through Wednesday (13 August) amid ongoing wildfires.
• A red heat warning also remains in effect for the northern regions of mainland Portugal, Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Vila Real and Bragança from 0600 hours (local time) on Monday (11 August) and 0600 hours (local time) on Tuesday (12 August) with temperatures likely to reach 41 degrees Celsius.
• Between 0900 hours (local time) on Sunday (10 August) and 0600 hours (local time) on Monday (11 August), these regions are under orange alert, and until then, a yellow alert is in effect.
