As per reports, police foiled 26 attempts by terrorists linked to the Islamic State group to launch attacks in Malaysia from 2016 to 2025. The investigation found that all the planned attacks were in their final stages when the police detected them.

The authorities stated that the threats came from both foreign nationals and locals, demonstrating the need for constant vigilance from all levels of society.
