As per reports, the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) between Revelstoke and Golden, British Columbia, is subject to closures for avalanche control operations through Rogers Pass and Eagle Pass through Thursday (19 March).

• The Trans-Canada Highway between Revelstoke and Golden closed again at 1400 hours local time (2200 hours UTC) on Tuesday (17 March), as crews worked to clear potential avalanche paths in Rogers Pass and Eagle Pass following a recent period of heavy snowfall.
• Drive British Columbia (DriveBC) has indicated that the next update on the closure is expected to be posted on Thursday (19 March), suggesting the highway is expected to remain closed for approximately two days. No detours are available and motorists have been advised to plan alternate routes.
• Parks Canada’s Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks staff have advised that heavy snowfall combined with warming temperatures this week will likely produce high to extreme avalanche danger in Rogers Pass, increasing the risk of large avalanche events and creating the potential for extended closures.
