Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General confirms data breach on Tuesday (18 November)

As per reports, on Tuesday (18 November), the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General (OAG) confirmed a data breach following a ransomware attack attributed to the Inc Ransom group. The breach disrupted the OAG’s website, email, and phone systems for about three weeks.

The organization stated that certain files may have been accessed without authorization, potentially including personal information such as names, Social Security numbers (SSN), and medical data. There is no evidence of misuse of this information.

• The Inc Ransom group claimed to have stolen 5.7 TB (terabytes) of sensitive data, including access to the internal network of the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation). The data includes Executive Office, Criminal Investigations PC (Personal Computer), Financial Crimes, Security, Medicaid Fraud, Bureau of Investigative, Child Predator Section, Environmental Crimes, Retail Theft, Special Operations, Bureau of Narcotics, Word Templates, Cellebrite Data.
• The OAG established a toll-free call center (1-833-353-8060) to assist affected individuals, available Monday-Friday, between 0800 hours (Eastern Time) to 2000 hours (Eastern Time), excluding U.S. holidays.
