As per reports, the Punjab Civil Medical Services Association (PCMS) has declared a statewide strike across all government-operated health centers on Monday (22 April) in protest against the assault on a senior medical officer (SMO) at ESI Hospital, Hoshiarpur. The strike aims to highlight the increasing incidents of violence against medical professionals.
According to the notice issued by state president Akhil Sareen, all OPD services, elective surgeries, dope tests, meetings, and office work will be suspended during the strike. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has endorsed this call for action.
