As per reports, at 0700 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) on Friday (05 December) morning, the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) announced the closure of Paris Metro Line Nine between Oberkampf and Havre-Caumartin following a serious accident involving a person at Grands Boulevards station.

• As a result, the stations République, Strasbourg-Saint-Denis, Bonne Nouvelle, Grands Boulevards, Richelieu-Drouot, Chaussée d’Antin Lafayette, and Havre-Caumartin are not being served.
• Traffic between Havre-Caumartin and Oberkampf is fully interrupted, and the rest of Line Nine is experiencing severe disruption.
• Initially, line reopening was expected at 0900 hours local time (0800 hours UTC), but at 0830 hours local time (0730 hours UTC), authorities extended the estimated resumption to 1200 hours (1100 hours UTC) on Friday (05 December). Four of the impacted stations are also served by Line Eight, which is likely to be heavily crowded, while additional interchange pressure is anticipated on Lines Three, Four, Five, Seven, 11 and on RER A and E due to diverted passenger flow.
• Separately, Line J on the Île-de-France rail network is facing major disruption between Paris Saint-Lazare and Mantes-la-Jolie due to a signaling failure near La Frette Montigny as of 0830 hours local time (0730 hours UTC) on Friday (05 December).
