As per reports, the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has announced an overnight closure on Interstate 81 southbound in the City of Syracuse from Wednesday (03 September).
• The closure is scheduled to take place between Exit 17 (South Salina Street and Brighton Avenue) and Exit 78 (Onondaga Nation and Nedrow).
• The lane reduction is scheduled to be in effect from 1800 hours (local time) to 0600 hours (local time) beginning Wednesday (03 September).
• The scheduled work is expected to continue nightly until Saturday (06 September).
• The closure is necessary to facilitate the installation of a drainage pipe as part of the larger I-81 Viaduct Project.
• NYSDOT has stated that the timeline may change depending on weather conditions and work progress.
