The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warning for inclement weather conditions across Uttarakhand from Sunday (31 May) till Thursday (04 June).
Following is the detailed weather forecast:
• Sunday (31 May): An orange alert for hailstorm, strong surface winds, thunderstorm, lightning, and squall has been issued in Dehradun, Chamoli, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarkashi, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, and Pithoragarh. Moreover, a yellow alert for strong surface winds, thunderstorms, lightning and squalls has been issued in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar.
• As per the IMD nowcast issued at 0900 hours on Sunday (31 May), an orange alert is active for moderate rainfall, thunderstorm and hail in Haridwar, Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarkashi, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, and Pithoragarh. Moreover, a yellow alert for strong surface winds and light rainfall has been issued in Chamoli, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, and Udham Singh Nagar. The nowcast will be active till 1200 hours (local time).
• Monday (01 June): A yellow alert of strong surface winds, thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls has been issued in all districts of Uttarakhand.
• Tuesday (02 June): A yellow alert for strong surface winds, thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls has been issued in Dehradun, Chamoli, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarkashi, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital, and Pithoragarh.
• Wednesday (03 June) and Thursday (04 June): a yellow alert for strong surface winds, thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls has been issued in Uttarkashi, Rudrapyarg, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh.
